Murrieta Jaguars

New PTC officers for 1997-1998:

These people are the best!!!

The Parent Teacher Club needs you...

The PTC is asking for your support for the 1997/98 school year. One of the best ways you can do this is to allow your child to sell memberships for our Parent Teacher Club for $1.00 each! Your membership allows you to participate in the monthly P.T.C. meetings through discussion and vote. By attending the meetings you learn what the P.T.C. provides for our students at Murrieta Elementary.

Some P.T.C. sponsored activities include L.A.Music Center assemblies throughout the year, the Red Ribbon Celebration, two Bookfairs, and the Young Writers Conference.

Anyone can join! Ask grandparents, aunts, uncles, your boss, or the nice lady across the street!

They'll scream for ice cream

The class with the highest number of memberships sold will receive an ice cream sundae party. Perfect for the hot days ahead!

The teachers can win too!!!!

For each class that has 100% participation, there will be a gift of $25.00 from the PTC to be used for classroom purposes. This means that each student needs to sell only one ticket and that class will receive $25.00

What does PTC do with the monies raised from the fund raisers?

Our PTC sponsors and funds a number of special items for students. They include:

*Purchasing encyclopedias for the library

*Funding bookbinding, paying for authors, paying for the Imagination Machine to perform (twice)

*Paying for the Music Center performances

*Buying Phonics books for first and second graders

*Organizing and paying for Red Ribbon Activities

*Paying for DARE graduation party (twice)

*Contribute $4.00 per child for classroom school supplies

*Purchase disater preparedness equipment, first aid materials, and food

*Contributing $5,000.00 each year for three years for our current computer lab

ROBIN WRAP FUNDRAISER

The PTC wants to thank all of you supported our Robinwrap fund raiser. We earned a great deal of money. A few people asked if we give contest prizes to top sellers. The answer is no: no contest, no prizes. Contests encourage students to go door-to-door selling so they could win something. Door-to-door selling is not safe. Children have been harmed by people taking advantage of them. PTC is designed to protect the welfare of children and does not allow door-to-door selling.

FUN! FUN! FUN! FUN! FUN! FUN! FUN! FUN! FUN! FUN!

The PTC helps us celebrate the fall season with a Harvest Fall Dance on October 17th.

The Costume Dance was a huge success!!! The family fun was had by 400 or so students and parents. Look for our next dance. They are the cool way for fun and they help our PTC.

Once again, our PTC has provided our students with another fun event. The Harvest Costume Dance was tremendous fun for students and parents. There will be another dance in the spring.
