PROJECTED PROGRAM FY2011

The Program calendar for 2010-2011, resulting from a September 13 meeting of the Program Committee and other interested LWVVC members, was presented at the September 21 LWVVC Board meeting:

September 25, Saturday, 10 a.m.:  LWVVC Membership Meeting.

October 9, Saturday, 10 a.m.:  Pros and Cons on the November Ballot Propositions.

November 13, Saturday, TBA:  Public forum on homelessness in Ventura County.  Presented during National Homelessness Awareness Month, this event will emphasize specific actions being taken to ameliorate homelessness in the county’s five largest cities.

December:  Holiday parties.

January, County-wide general meeting:  Program planning and review of state positions, part of preparation for the State Convention in May.

February (or possibly March):  Forum on U.S. prisons, with emphasis on sentencing issues and the effects of privatization.

March:  Possible joint meeting with Association of American University Women, to commemorate Women’s History Month.

April:  Preparation for the LWVC State Convention in May and for the LWVVC Annual Meeting in June.

May 13, 14, 15:  State League Convention in Ventura at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

June:  LWVVC Annual Meeting, TBA.
